An island called Hydra

IMG_8911 IMG_8920 IMG_8928 IMG_8954 IMG_8959 IMG_8964 IMG_8969 IMG_8971 IMG_8930-tileHydra is a charming little island not far from Athens and makes for a popular day trip from the Greek capital. Surrounded by the clear azure blue waters of the Mediterranean, this island is free of cars and motor vehicles. Donkeys and mules are the main form of transportation adding to the charm of this place. Cats equal the number of local residents and seem to know how to work their charm around visitors. Our day in Hydra allowed us plenty of relaxation as we wandered the streets of the sleepy town, read a book in a cafeย  and dip our feet in the refreshing waters of the sea.
