Strasbourg and Colmar are two quintessential German-influenced towns in the region of Alsace in France. Famous for its medieval black and white half timber buildings and Christmas markets, these towns were a delight to wander around, soaking in the festive atmosphere. The cobblestone streets were chock full of visitors like us, excited to see the markets during opening weekend. Smells of vin chaud or mulled wine, fresh crêpes and German style sausages permeated the icy cold air. Hundreds of stalls can be found selling Christmas trinkets and gifts of every kind. Lights and decorations were everywhere leaving you wide-eyed and in awe. We felt like a kid again. Strasbourg and Colmar were absolutely charming and just perfect for the season!
Wonderful pictures. I have been trying for 3 years to get to Strasbourg and Colmar, and I always seem to run out of time. After seeing your beautiful pictures I will make sure I make it next year. Thanks.
Thank you and I’m glad to hear that! Strasbourg and Colmar are absolutely gorgeous and well worth a trip to visit 🙂
